Eliminate resource consumption: Traditional methods of giving and current not-for-profit practices require an endless exchange of printed correspondence to encourage you to contribute money to specific causes. Although this method is proven and traditionally successful, we believe that it is counterintuitive to the basic values of the environmental non-profit to use natural resources to boost donations. Therefore:
  • We will not utilize printed materials to raise donations. (In other words: Trees are more important than dollars.)
  • We do not hold charity events as we believe that they use natural resources irresponsibly.
  • Our fundraising is done through internet channels, face-to-face meetings, grassroots growth within our established base, extensive networking with large organizations, development of a large internet presence and ongoing placement of our donation tile on sponsor websites.

Our methods place added pressure on our sponsors to make donations and share our message. We believe our methods and ideals are worth that extra pressure.

How often do you get to direct your hard earned money to the issues that concern you most? We work to provide our donors with simple, detailed information on where their money actually makes a difference. Current Projects

Keeping expenses low.: The national average for administrative expenses with in the non-profit sector is 9.7 percent of revenue. ** (2008 Study by Charity Navigator)

At Ecogivingisliving.org one of our primary goals is to maintain total expenses at a level below 8 percent of total donations.
How do we do this?

  • We utilize automated systems to their fullest.
  • We pay our development employees only on the dollars that they directly fund raise.
  • We eliminate most paper costs by maintaining all records electronically. (Except where required by law)
  • Our Team Members currently volunteer their time
  • We designate internal funding only for initiatives that are vital to the ongoing success of our organization
  • Our granting board makes all decisions via virtual meetings which requiring no printed material and no transportation costs.
Additionally, all individuals or organizations requesting grants from Ecogivingisliving must clearly illustrate their prospective methods for keeping their costs low, as well.
